Srinagar, Feb 17 (KNO): The government on Tuesday informed the House that Primary Health Centre (PHC) Hariganiwan caters to a population of around 21,500 souls and is equipped with basic healthcare facilities.
Replying to a starred question by MLA Mian Mehar Ali, the Minister Incharge of Health and Medical Education Department, according to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) said that the PHC is housed in a double-storeyed building with facilities including OPD, IPD ward, laboratory, X-ray, immunization and casualty room.
The government further stated that the nearest health institutions include SDH Kangan, located 11 kilometres away, and PHC Gund, situated 10 kilometres away, both of which are functioning round the clock.
Regarding the demand for making PHC Hariganiwan functional on a 24x7 basis, the government said that the feasibility for the same shall be examined as per applicable norms—(KNO)
